Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has introduced legislation aimed at fighting Medicare fraud by giving the federal government more time to pay Medicare providers when fraud, abuse, or waste is suspected. At least $60 billion of Medicare spending is lost each year to fraud, waste, and abuse.
In the past, Senator Grassley has also made significant amendments to the False Claims Act to protect whistleblowers.
