Breakthrough for MIT Whistleblower Case

CircuitboardFor nearly a decade, a lawsuit has raged on between Convolve, a small technology company in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Seagate Technology, the world’s largest manufacturer of computer hard drive disks. Convolve has claimed that Seagate sold their technology, which reduces the noise made by computer hard drives, and sold it as their own. However, a whistleblower has stepped forward and could make a huge break in the case. Former Seagate employee Paul Galloway claims that Seagate not only improperly incorporated the technology, originally developed at M.I.T. into their products, but actively destroyed evidence that Seagate met with Convolve in 1998 and 1999 to discuss the technology and tried to reach a business agreement. Convolve has lawsuits pending against other technology companies, so Galloway’s testimony may have a huge impact on the computing business world.
